How many stanchions do you need?

Count the posts

• Measure the length of the line, then divide by the belt or rope length.
• Add one post for the end of the line, and one for every corner or turn.
• Example: a straight 20 ft line with 7 ft belts needs 4 posts (20 ÷ 7 ≈ 3 spans, plus 1).

Count barrier sections

• Measure the perimeter and divide by the section length.
• Add a few sections for gates and corners.
• Leave access for staff and emergency vehicles.

Size the carpet

• Measure the path from start to end and add a little extra at both ends.
• Choose a width that fits the crowd: narrow for single file, wider for photos.
